Feeling old? No? Well, consider this: the first of the 8 epic Harry Potter movies came out almost 20 years ago. Virtually all of the cast are now in their 30s. Feeling old now? Then our job is done. But wait! Our job is most definitely not done yet. What are the actors from Harry Potter up to these days? That’s the question that’s been on your mind for a while, and we’re here to give you all the answers.
1. Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter
When the big announcement was made that JK Rowling’s Harry Potter novels were being turned into movies, it was a pretty big mother flippin’ deal. In fact, around 17,000 boys auditioned for the titular character and ultimately Daniel Radcliffe was chosen. He could have easily spent the rest of his life in complete financial security had he decided to never act again. But he wanted to build a much bigger legacy, and he certainly hasn’t disappointed. Since wrapping up the Harry Potter films in 2010, Radcliffe has starred in a variety of different movie genres. He’s been in dark comedies, rom-coms, and even horror movies. He even played a dead guy in Swiss Army Man, never uttering a single word throughout the movie being that he was a corpse and all. But beyond that, he’s starred in several TV shows and theatrical performances as well.
2. Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley
We all know Ron Weasley as Harry’s best pal. Much like Radcliffe, this was Rupert Grint’s first credited movie role. After the Potter movies, he continued to act in a few movies, although he hasn’t been back on the silver screen since the 2015 French comedy Moonwalkers. But don’t feel bad for Mr. Grint. You can catch him on the Netflix original series “Sick Note” as well as Apple TV plus’ “Servant.” He’s also performed on Broadway alongside Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane in “It’s Only a Play.” Not too shabby!
